About Olderby Tree Service and How Referrals Work
Request an estimate from a provider
Who we are
Olderby Tree Service is a referral service for homeowners in Old Westbury and the Old Westbury area. We help you reach independent tree removal providers. We are not a tree company. We do not own trucks, saws or chippers, and we never send anyone to your yard ourselves.
Why this site exists
Tree work can be a big bill, and prices swing from one job to the next. It is hard to know if a number is fair. This site is built around one idea: know the price drivers, then compare written quotes. Tree size, access, the tree's condition and what stands nearby, like a house, wires or a fence, all change the cost. Once you see those pieces, a quote starts to make sense.
How providers are matched
You tell us what you need. It might be a planned removal, storm tree clearance or stump grinding. We pass the request to a local provider in our network that handles that kind of job in your area. Availability varies, so Request a callback to check provider availability, or use the request form. You are welcome to ask more than one provider for a quote.
What we expect from providers
Providers in our network are independent businesses. We ask them to:
- Give a written quote that lists what is included, such as cleanup, haul-away and stump work
- Explain the plan in plain words before any work starts
- Carry the licensing and insurance that local rules call for
- Say so honestly when a job is bigger than it looks
We encourage you to ask for proof of insurance before you agree to anything.
Where you can help, and where you should not
Help where it's safe. Moving cars, clearing patio furniture, raking up small twigs and keeping pets indoors are all fair game, and a tidy yard can make a job easier for the provider. Climbing, cutting above head height, working near power lines and handling trees that are leaning or under tension are not DIY jobs. Heavy snow and ice can leave limbs in unpredictable shape, so leave those to trained climbers with the right gear.
What we do not do
- We do not perform tree work of any kind
- We do not set provider prices
- We do not promise arrival times
- We do not promise insurance payouts. Some policies may cover sudden damage, so check your policy. Providers can often help document damage for a claim
How we are paid
A provider may pay a referral fee when a request from this site turns into a job. You pay the provider directly for the work, and you are never obligated to book. Asking for an estimate carries no obligation.
